The Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) Workshop serves as an introduction to the fundamentals of AutoCAD tools. These workshops are hosted at the EGD Academy campuses and are offered at no cost to learners in grades 10–12.
The EGD CAD Lab provides a bridge between traditional technical hand drawing and the computer-generated software used to create technical drawings today. “A challenge at tertiary level is the difficulty encountered by students when doing the computer-generated drawings component of their technical studies” (Buxton, 2015).
